Mac & Cheese Temptation

I bet you'll be tempted by this mac & cheese!
The ingredients are basic: macaroni, milk, an egg, butter, flour, salt, ground mustard,
 and shredded cheddar (mild) cheese.

First, I cooked the macaroni in water using package instructions.
After running it through a colander
I put it in the cooking pot with the butter and egg.

Then I put in the salt.

Then I poured in most of the package of cheese.
(I saved the rest for putting on top after baking.)

I sprinkled in the flour after the cheese
and stirred it all up.

I poured everything into an 8 1/2-inch-diameter glass casserole dish.

I poured a cup and a half of milk over it...

...and flattened it out with a spoon.

Into the oven it went...

...and when it was done, we sprinkled the remaining cheese on top.

I scooped out helpings for my family and we ate the whole thing that night.
We were hungry!!

Wok Man

I asked my mom to buy a wok so I could try a
Stir-Fry Free-For-All. What that means is that everyone who comes to dinner
gets to choose what they want on their plate.

They can choose from chopped broccoli...

peppers...

and many other things including mushrooms, carrots, onion, turkey, corn, bamboo chutes,
Water chestnuts,pork and spinnach.

Then I stir fry each person's plate separately.

FINAL PRODUCT!!!

It was fun

Lemon Tea Bread

Today I made two things:
Macaroni and Cheese Temptation
and Lemon Tea Bread.
Here are the ingredients for the bread: butter, eggs, salt, powdered sugar,
cream cheese, flour, lemon, baking powder, milk, orange and orange juice.

First, I set out the ingredients on the table.

Then I scraped off one teaspoon of lemon peel with a potato peeler.
Someday I will get a lemon zester.

Next, I make a mixture of butter, lemon peel, sugar,
eggs, flour, baking powder and milk in a mixing bowl.

After blending it, I put the mixture in a bread pan
and baked it in the oven.

We made the orange cream cheese spread and put it on the bread like frosting.

Lastly, we put the orange and lemon slices on the plate.
Try it sometime

I'll show you my Mac & Cheese Temptation on another post.

Chef Jack Craft's Hearty Beef Stew

My Grandma Jonita came and we made stew and these are the ingredients: flour, potatoes, carrots, mustard, onions, bread, meat, thyme, garlic, salt and pepper, and beer.
Grandma took my pictures for me and guided me through the recipe.

This is a picture in the recipe book to tell us what it should look like.

I got this recipe book from our Hy-Vee grocery store. Helpful smiles in every aisle. :)

This is searing the beef.

Pouring the beer in the crockpot.

Then I sprinkled in the pepper and salt.

These are the sauteed onions (not eels). I added rosemary and thyme to them.

After we put all the vegetables in the crockpot and cooked it for a while, this is what it looked like.

This is what it looked like on a plate.

My grandma had to go before she could eat any of the stew
but my family and I enjoyed it anyway.
Thanks, Grandma Jonita. It was great cooking with you!!!

Captain Eddie's

It's been a long time since I've posted. We are in Florida for winter break
and we went to Captain Eddie's one day.

At the back of capt. Eddies there's an outdoor part to the restaurant.
We decided to eat under a tiki hut.

These are my parents, my brother and me.

I ordered chicken nuggets and cinnamon applesauce.
My dad ordered a boatload of fish tacos. Get it, a boatload!!!

It was a real fishy lunch!!!
